Filmosound 385/399 1950 Restored/Enhanced Mostly Stock Circuit With Mods
Mostly stock Filmosound 399. I am the builder of At Mars amps, and I did the work, but this is not an At Mars circuit. If you want a minorly tweaked stock circuit, this is it. I did all the reliability mods. New grounded power cord for safety. New filter caps. New standard 1/4" speaker jacks. New plate resistors and a few other components that were out of spec. Old stock tubes. Optical circuit removed. And, I guess you can say it got the Krinard mod as schematic was passed to me that claims to be that, but it is a typical input mod.. Some simple preamp changes were made to tamp down the crazy amount of bass that is built into the stock circuit so that it is guitar friendly. Circuit is 98 percent stock. Cosmetically the top has seen better days, but all is well with the functionality. 179 power transformer installed. Video shows the sweep of the tone and volume knobs using a telecaster on the bridge pickup. Safe and reliable as is. Or ready for further modifications, if you so desire.
